Hello everyone, and if you’re seeing this, welcome to my newly revamped website! Many thanks to the amazing web designer Elena Saygo for all her work and suggestions that went into making this a reality.
You may be wondering — considering that this is titled a “Monthly Reader” — where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing since my last update. Well, wonder no more as I give a quick rundown of some of what I’ve been up to!
On a personal level, I took part of this year to enjoy some much-needed rest after working nearly nonstop ever since graduating with my Masters in 2017. 2020 through 2023 were particularly busy times, with a nonstop flow of editing work between my time at Rowman & Littlefield and eventually finding myself able to embrace freelancing full-time with the help of Reedsy.
One such break took me to Havana, Cuba for a week in January to visit a fellow writer living in the area. Considering this was my first time traveling outside of the United States, took quite a few notes and plenty of photos for future writing references! One of the photos taken by our group was of this magnificent resident of Castillo de los Tres Reyes Magos del Morro:
Upon my return, my attention immediately focused back on my editing work (you can see a few examples of these under Editing Samples) as well as continuing with the next stages of production (which included a monthlong marathon of in-person voiceover recordings in Burbank, California) for Unmasked Truths: Shattered Dreams!
I began work on this visual novel project as its writer almost three years ago when it was still in pre-development, and now I am excited as one of the project’s Directors to share that the demo for Unmasked Truths: Shattered Dreams is finally nearing completion! It’s been a long road and taken a lot of work and effort to grow this Murder Mystery/Drama from its initial concept to finally release it all these years later.
Feedback on the story has been great so far, and I hope you’ll all check it out when the 90,000+ word demo is made publicly available for FREE in 2025!
